The 5th Internacional African Festival
The 5th Internacional African Festival, an event organized annually by the Committee of African Festival Yokohama, with the aim of bridging the cultural differences between África and Japan, was held from March 30 to April 1, 2012 in Yokohama city. The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency João Miguel Vahekeni, Ambassador of Angola, as well as other Ambassadors and Heads of Mission of other African Diplomatic Mission in Japan. Africa Day Celebrated In Japan
The main event to celebrate the 49th Anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), the predecessor of the African Union, was held at the Embassy of Angola. This political, cultural and recreational event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and of the civil society, businessmen as well as some representatives of the Japanese Government and the Diet, including the Vice-Prime Minister, H.
