Angola Exceeds The Mark Of Ten Thousand Tons Of Coffee

At least 15 thousand tons of coffee was harvested during the “red grain” crop campaign in 2009, exceeding the five thousand obtained during the last harvest, a fact that opens encouraging perspective for the sector, for the medium term, with the target of achieving 50 thousand tons/year of commercial coffee.

Contributed to this considerable production, the Support Program for Coffee and Palmar Foment, registered in The National Plan, and the Executive Program on the Agrarian Sector, which is divided in several components such as “rehabilitation projects for abandoned plantations and coffee commercialization”.

OPEP keeps production quotes in 24, 84 million barrels/day The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEP), has decided last December to keep the crude production quotes in 24, 84 million barrels daily, during the institution´s 155th annual conference hold for the first time in Angola.

OPEP considers Angolan presidency excellent The Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, was informed in Luanda, about issues related to the oil market prices, when welcoming a ministerial delegation from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The delegation participated in the 155th annual conference of OPEC, which was held on the last month of 2009 at the Angolan capital, Luanda.
In a statement to the press after the meeting, OPEC’s General Secretary, Abdalla El-Badri, mentioned that the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, showed that he is “very well informed”, concerning the oil market, as he already did during their first meeting held in 2007.
