Homage To Angola Excites Public In Brazil Carnival

By: Admin. posted February 21, 2012

The Brazilian Vila Isabel Samba School that paid homage to Angola in this year’s edition of the local Carnival closed the first day of parade on Monday 20th February, amid loud screams of excitement from the public.

In 1988, the school won the Carioca Carnival title with the plot "Kizomba", in a homage to the black culture to recall the centenary of the “Áurea Law” that dictated the end of slavery in Brazil.

This year, with the afro plot, the band got excited and transmitted this energy to the public that raised and applauded over the night.
