Angola Participated In The 7th Regional Meeting Of The Acp/eu
Angola attends the 7th Regional Meeting of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) and European Union (EU) countries taking place in Lusaka, Zambia.
At the meeting of the Joint Assembly, that gathers deputies of SADC and the European Union, the countries involved will give continuity to previous discussions related to political, economic and social development issues.
The three-day debate will focus on the process of regional integration and cooperation in southern Africa, the fight against corruption, elections and electoral processes, contributions to regional development and challenges in the exploitation of mineral resources , food security and agriculture development and gender issues.
The forum will also address universal access to basic education, in view of the Millennium Development Goals.
At this meeting, Angola was represented by a parliamentary delegation, headed by Mr Virgilio de Fontes Pereira, chairperson of MPLA parliamentary group.
The parliamentary meeting ends Friday 24th February, with the release of the findings and recommendations that will serve to guide the next meeting.
