ANGOLA E NAMIBIA DISCUSS COOPERATION

Angola and Namibia intend to identify new areas of cooperation and will continue to work to strengthen their parliamentary ties. This was pledged by the Speakers of the Parliament of Angola and Namibia, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos and Peter H. Katjavivi, respectively, during a meeting that took place on the sidelines of the 4th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from August 31 to September 2.

During his stay in New York, the president of the Angolan parliament also held a meeting with this Kenyan counterpart with whom he discussed, among other issues, the preparations for the Forum of Parliaments of Member States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) which will be held in Angola from December 1-3.

Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos also held separate talks and discussed issues of bilateral interest with his counterparts from Brazil, Burundi, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and Serbia
