Today, the Council of Ministers reviewed the Presidential Decree authorizing the creation of Sociedade de Desenvolvimento do Corredor do Lobito, S.A., a public company based in the municipality of Lobito, Benguela.

This company will be responsible for the administration, coordination, supervision, and promotion of economic development activities and initiatives in the Lobito Corridor, according to the Angolan Government Portal.
According to the document, the creation of this company aims to establish the necessary conditions to transform the Lobito Corridor into an effective corridor for economic development, acting as a catalyst for attracting and implementing strategic investments in sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, and services, which are essential for the development of domestic and regional trade.
The initiative also aims to strengthen the country’s competitiveness in relation to neighbouring countries, promote job creation, encourage the transfer of knowledge and technology, and improve Angola’s position in the global market.
