ANGOLA AND JAPAN SIGN AGREEMENT FOR EXCHANGE OF NOTES TO IMPLEMENT THE DEMINING PROGRAM

Angola and Japan signed today, 14 of January, in the MIREX, in Luanda, the Agreement for Exchange of Notes for Implementation of the Program of Economic and Social Development in the Field of Demining.

Signatures of the said exchange of notes were, His Excellency Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes, Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities and His Excellency Maruhashi Jiro, Ambassador of Japan to Angola.
The Economic and Social Development Program, valued at ¥ 210,000,000, consists of donating accessories for demining machines, a mobile workshop, spare parts and training for technicians to the National Demining Institute (INAD) of the Demining Executive Committee (CED) ).
The donation is part of the existing cooperation, in the demining sector, between the Government of the Republic of Angola and the Government of Japan, which consists of allowing long-term and dangerous labor-intensive operations to be drastically improved with the use of modernized machines.
