ANGOLA AND JAPAN ANALYZE BILATERAL COOPERATION

Angola and Japan analyzed this Saturday, March 26, in Luanda, the broadening of their bilateral cooperation, which necessarily involves the facilitation of mechanism to enable the finalization of pending legal instruments and the need to create the Joint Commission between the two countries.

This proposition was expressed this morning, in a virtual meeting, held at the headquarters of MIREX, which joined His Excellency Ambassador Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola, and His Excellency Mr. Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

During the bilateral meeting, the two ministers reviewed issues of bilateral and multilateral interest, focusing on development projects in Angola and the international current issue, centered on the conflict opposing Russia and Ukraine.

On the bilateral issue it was agreed that Angola and Japan should fine-tune their mechanisms to move forward with pending projects, such as financing for demining, agreement on visa facilitation, MIREX computerization, liberalization of the investment and intervention in health and agriculture sector.

In the area of multilateralism, the parties pointed out the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with the negative impact on the rise in oil prices.

In this particular point, His Excellency Ambassador Téte António, said that Angola has done its own part for there to be a dialogue and peace between Russia and Ukraine, taking into account the experience lived during its 27 years of civil war.

He clarified, however, that the African conflicts should deserve attention from the international community, having also referred to the next Extraordinary Summit on Combating Terrorism and unconstitutional Regime Change in Africa, to be held in May, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

The bilateral meeting between His Excellency Ambassador Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola and His Excellency Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, were attended, among other participants, by His Excellency Ambassador Clemente Camenha, Director of the Asia and Oceania Directorate of MIREX, and by His Excellency Jiro Maruhashi, Ambassador of Japan in Angola.
