AMBASSADOR OF JAPAN INFORMS ABOUT VISIT OF MINISTER OF ECONOMY, TRADE AND INDUSTRY OF JAPAN TO ANGOLA

His Excellency Ambassador Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received in audience this Thursday morning, June 8th, in Luanda, the Ambassador of Japan to Angola, Suzuki Toru.

The meeting served for the Japanese Ambassador to inform the Minister of Foreign Affairs about the visit to Angola by His Excellency Nishimuna Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan, scheduled for the first week of August of the current year.

Ambassador Suzuki Toru also spoke about the need for the implementation of the Agreement on Liberalization, Protection, and Promotion of Investment (ALPPRI).

Bilateral cooperation between Angola and Japan began in 1988 as Emergency Aid through UNICEF.

Japan has been providing bilateral assistance to Angola through international organizations in efforts for national reconciliation, food aid, assistance to farmers and poverty alleviation, as well as support for refugee repatriation, demining, water supply facilities, construction of primary schools, communication networks, ports, among others, with a focus on basic infrastructure.
