TÉTE ANTÓNIO MEETS WITH THE UNITED NATIONS RESIDENT COORDINATOR IN ANGOLA

Foreign Minister Téte António received the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Angola, Amanda Khozi Mukwashi, this Monday in Luanda.

The meeting, held at the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, allowed the two officials to exchange views on the state of cooperation between Angola and the United Nations system, with a focus on various programs and projects that UN agencies, funds, and programs are implementing in the country in support of national sustainable development priorities.

According to a statement sent to JA Online, during the meeting the parties acknowledged the important role of the United Nations in supporting the government’s efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The meeting also served as an opportunity to address the issue of staff training, with a focus on academic and scientific exchange programs resulting from the partnership between African universities and higher education institutions in the United States of America.

Subsequently, Angola and the United Nations System reiterated their commitment to continue working in close coordination, consolidating a partnership based on ongoing dialogue, mutual respect, and support for national efforts toward inclusive and sustainable development.

Relations between Angola and the United Nations Mission in the country have been marked by solid and constructive collaboration, reflected in technical and institutional support for strategic programs aimed at the well-being of the population and national socioeconomic progress.
