More than a thousand journalists are accredited to cover the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Angola, from the 18th to the 21st of this month.
The announcement was made to journalists by the Secretary of State for Social Communication in Luanda, at the Aníbal de Melo Press Center. He detailed that the number of registrants consists of approximately 800 professionals from media outlets, freelancers, and content producers, in addition to 250 foreign journalists from around 80 international media organizations.
For Nuno Caldas, these figures demonstrate the international relevance of Pope Leo XIV’s visit and the opportunity for Angola to further introduce itself to the world, as well as its hospitality and culture.
Furthermore, he added that five journalists from ANGOP, Radio Ecclesia, Radio Maria, and TPA are accompanying the Pope on his African tour, which began on the 13th. He also stated that with this visit, the Executive reiterates its commitment to doing everything possible to ensure that Robert Prevost’s stay takes place in peace and without any setbacks.
