Angola’s Ambassador to Japan, Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho, today called on Japanese companies to increase their investment in Angola.
The diplomat spoke at the opening of a roundtable discussion organized by the Association for African Economy & Development and Yamaha Motors, under the theme “Angola, Blue Economy,” marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which falls on September 9.
The ambassador highlighted investment in the fields of health, energy and water, agriculture, communications, and vocational training, expressing the hope that this investment would extend to marine resources, developing the fishing industry by taking advantage of the 1,650 kilometers of coastline that runs from north to south, thereby contributing to the government’s goal of diversifying the economy and promoting employment.
To this end, the ambassador said, the favorable business environment provided by Angolan authorities plays a key role, opening doors to Japanese private investment in the Angolan and regional markets.
She praised the excellent collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and expressed gratitude for the investments made by Japanese companies already operating in the Angolan market.
