The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, received American basketball player LeBron James and actor Will Smith in an audience this Sunday morning at the Presidential Palace in Luanda.
The meeting took place as part of the two international figures’ participation in the E1 Luanda GP 2026, an electric boat racing event being held for the first time in the Angolan capital.
On this occasion, LeBron James and Will Smith were presented with jerseys from the National Basketball Team. During the event, President João Lourenço made a point of noting that Angola “has been crowned African basketball champion 12 times.”
On the waters of Luanda Bay, top racers, international teams, and the public have gathered since Saturday for an event that puts Angola at the center of the international events scene.
