An Angolan delegation led by the Chairman of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA), António Belsa da Costa is in Addis Ababa to attend the World Energy Executive Assembly and the World Energy Leader’s Summit (October 26-30). Angola holds the chairmanship of APUA since 2014 for a three-year term.
On the sidelines of the event, the APUA Chairman who is also the CEO of the Angolan National Electricity Production Company (PRODEL-EP), will hold talks with the African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, Dr. Elham Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim as well as with general directors of African electric power companies.
The Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA), formerly known as the Union of Producers, Transporters and Distributors of Electric Power in Africa (UPDEA), was established in 1970 to bring together African electric power companies towards making power more accessible, affordable and reliable for the African people. The APUA headquarters is located in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
