The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Angola to Japan, H.E. Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho, reaffirmed at the event commemorating the 49th anniversary of national independence, held today Saturday, November 16, the commitment of the Angolan Executive led by His Excellency João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic, in improving the socio-economic conditions of the Angolan population, with the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures of roads, hospitals, ports, airports, as well as housing centers in most provinces, acts that positively contribute to improving connectivity , health, social well-being of our populations and integration of the country’s macro-economic system infrastructures.
The diplomat also mentioned the importance of contracts such as the reconstruction of the Lobito Corridor, as well as the new International Airport Dr. António Agostinho Neto, contribute to greater African interconnectivity and lay the foundations for our country to become a regional and global hub, offering advantages to the continent’s circular economies. The Ambassador of Angola spoke the same words when she made a presentation on the gains of independence, peace and development, aimed at members of the Angolan community residing in Japan, encouraging them to create small projects that aim to make our country known and develop initiatives that contribute to its economic and social affirmation.
The independence day event was marked by several moments, such as the presentation of a lecture led by a resident Angolan academic, the artistic display of traditional dances and a fashion show with costumes produced by a national citizen, with the incidence the program was aimed at members of the resident Angolan community. The opportunity was also used to call on Angolans to remain united and take advantage of the opportunities that Japan offers to form partnerships that will allow our country to catapult to the top places in development, both on the continent and in the world.
The celebratory event allowed those present to witness the country’s advances, live together and remember the cultural and gastronomic charms of our country, as well as promote the identification of cultural and recreational initiatives within the community, with a view to their participation in programmatic events at national level. of the African group and the jubilee of national independence to take place next year.
It should be remembered that the Angolan community in Japan is mainly made up of students and migrant workers who settled in this country a few years ago.
