Tokyo, August 9, 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Japan, Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho, attended a ceremony this Sunday in the city of Nagasaki marking the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing of the city in 1945 during World War II.

The ceremony took place at Nagasaki Peace Park and was presided over by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, with the participation of Japanese government officials and politicians, representatives of the diplomatic corps from various countries, international organizations, survivors of the bombing, and relatives of the victims.

The Angolan Ambassador’s participation in the ceremony reaffirms Angola’s commitment to promoting peace, dialogue, and international cooperation, as well as to global efforts toward nuclear disarmament and the prevention of new conflicts.
