Ambassador Rui Xavier and Mr. Kobayashi of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, on the re-delivery of all documents related to the comprehensive development contract for Namibe Bay, deposited at the Embassy on March 27, 2020.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, held today, 13/05, at Mirex, a working meeting with the Ambassador of Japan in Angola, Hironori Sawada, they analyzed issues related to the strengthening of cooperation in the health sector.
The Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, also attended the meeting.
Angola and Japan cooperate in several areas of the health sector, especially in the area of technical assistance, staff training and donation of hospital supplies.
President of Toyota de Angola, Mr. Nuno Joaquim Borges da Silva, was distinguished by the Japanese government with the “Order of the Rising Sun, Golden Rays with Rosette”, for his contribution in strengthening Japan-Angola economic relations. A total of 4,181 individuals are on the list of those honored by His Majesty Emperor Naruhito in the spring of 2020, of whom 117 are foreigners, including the co-founder of Microsoft Corp. Bill Gates.
In the autumn of 2019, Lawyer Carlos Alberto Santana Santos Freitas (ex-Honorary Consul General of Japan in Luanda) was distinguished with the “Order of the Rising Sun, Golden Rays with Neck Ribbon”, for his contribution in promoting exchange and relations friendlies between Japan and Angola.
